Deborah Stein

Deborah Stein is a playwright, director, and producer. Her work has been produced and developed at theatres and festivals throughout the nation, in New York, as well as internationally in Poland, Ireland and Prague. Stein has collaborated on original ensemble works and site-specific installations with artists such as Joseph Chaikin, Dominique Serrand, Lear deBessonet, and most frequently the Pig Iron Theatre Company, with whom she has collaborated since 2000 on six original works and was nominated for three Barrymore Awards. Most recently, she produced three seasons of world premieres with the Workhaus Collective in Minneapolis, and Chimera in Minneapolis and New York with collaborator Suli Holum. Stein is the recipient of the 2009-2011 Bush Artist Fellowship, two Jerome Fellowships, a 2010-2011 McKnight Advancement Grant at the Playwrightsʼ Center in Minneapolis.
