Edward Kemp

Edward Kemp is Director of RADA. His plays and adaptations include 5/11, Six Pictures of Lee Miller, and The Master and Margarita (Chichester), Nathan the Wise (Chichester/Radio 3), King James Bible (National), The Mysteries (RSC/Radio 3), As I Lay Dying (Young Vic/Louisiana), Penthesilea (RADA), Turandot (Hampstead), The Emigrants (Radio 3), Don Juan and The Hypochondriac (West Yorkshire Playhouse). Libretti include Julian Philips’ The Yellow Sofa (Glyndebourne), Victoria Borisova Ollas’ The Ground Beneath Her Feet (Manchester), Prokofiev’s Ivan the Terrible(BBC Proms), Stuart MacRae’s Echo and Narcissus and collaborations with Sally Beamish, Laura Bowler, Corin Buckeridge, Terry Davies, Agostin Fernandez andAlwynne Pritchard. Ballet scenarios include Ghosts (ROH 2), Julia und Romeo, Stürmhöhe, Ein Winternachtstraum (Bern), A Tale of Two Cities (NBT), Blood Wedding (Helsinki), all with Cathy Marston. With Toby Jones and Jane Heather he ran The Table Show, creating work for BAC, National Theatre Studio, West Yorkshire Playhouse, Traverse Edinburgh, British Council and Radio 4.
